Seed Donations from outside the UK
Current regulations state that seed donations entering the UK from outside Europe should be accompanied by a Phytosanitary Certificate. Members from the US and Canada please use the links below for more information.
Seed sent from countries within Europe, including Norway and Switzerland, do not need a Phytosanitary Certificate to send seed to the UK.
Donors may wish to group together to share any cost involved. Donations sent without Certificates are at the donor’s risk.
If you are able to donate seed, please post as soon as you can. If you think your seed will not meet the deadline, we are very happy to receive late seed but before posting please email me diane.clement@agsgroups.org and I will give you an alternative posting address.
There are special arrangements for donations from certain countries. Please use the links below for more information
Seed Ordering for Members outside the UK
The Seed List will be available from the end of November. We will start to pick seed in December and donors will get priority. We hope to post seed orders out during December and January.
Countries requiring phytosanitary certificates for seed entering their country
We are very sorry but we cannot send seed to Australia, Japan, Switzerland and all EU Countries. This is due to the cost of Inspection and obtaining Phytosanitary Certificates in England (the arrangements and cost of doing this in England are different from those in Scotland).
Countries which do not require phytosanitary certificates for seed entering the country
We are able to send seed to the US, Canada, New Zealand, Norway and other countries who do not have the requirements for Phytosanitory Certificates.
Please get in touch with me directly if you have any queries about these arrangements: diane.clement@agsgroups.org
Members from the US who wish to order seed
Members in the US requesting seed will need to send us an Import Permit by mail or email (these are free and obtained from the USDA website). This system has worked well for many years. Please send directly to diane.clement@agsgroups.org
Click on the link below for details of how to apply for a USDA Permit to import seed to the US
Members from New Zealand who wish to order seed
Members in New Zealand requesting seed should check that their order does not contain seed banned from entry. New Zealand customs will destroy the whole order if one packet is found that is not allowed. Please click on the link below to go to the Biosecurity New Zealand Website.
We will include a printed list of your seeds to meet your country’s requirements, and we will do what we can to ensure we do not send banned species, but please do check for yourselves as we cannot be held responsible for any problems.
